William Bensinger, MD

Having lived in the Puget Sound area since 1976, Dr. Bensinger considers himself a native of the area.  After earning his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago he moved to Seattle for further training.  He completed his internal medicine residency and oncology fellowship at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle.

Dr. Bensinger is a world-renowned multiple myeloma expert and is internationally known for his expertise in plasma cell disorders as well as leukemia and lymphoma.  He uses advanced yet personalized treatments based on each individual patient, such as stem cell transplantation, targeted radiotherapy and immunotherapy.

His approach to patient care is to find out what is most important to his patients.  Dr. Bensinger seeks to understand each patients’ goals regardless of their disease and encourages autonomy in the treatment decision making process.

During his time off Dr. Bensinger enjoys flying.  As an active pilot he will fly several different aircraft types on a regular basis.  He adores his two black Labradors and he recently became a new grandfather.
